Fort Wayne Newborn Photographer | Hazel

What a precious little girl! She has two big brothers that will be her protectors as she gets older!!

What did you think when you first felt your baby move?  Oh my gosh, this is really happening..

What were your first thoughts when you saw your baby?  I can’t believe it’s a girl and she’s so beautiful!! And thank goodness labor is over!!

What three words best describe your child?  Beautiful, A gift from God

What songs do you sing to your baby?  Our boys like to sing Jesus loves me and You are my sunshine to Hazel.

What books do you read to your baby?  You are my cupcake. My son Porter (3) especially loves this book for his little sister.

Does your baby have any nicknames?  Hazelnut, Haze and Hazie.

What has been the most challenging part of bringing your baby home? What has been the most rewarding part?  Most challenging – tongue and lip tie! Most rewarding has been watching our two boys, Grady and Porter, love their new baby sister. They absolutely ADORE her.

Was there anything you absolutely could not stand while you were pregnant?  During my first trimester — coffee. Thankfully that went away because I LOVE coffee!

Did you have any cravings while you were pregnant?  Breyers Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream!!

Did you find out the gender of your baby? If so, did you do a special gender reveal?  Yes, no special reveal. We brought the two boys with us to the ultrasound. It was such a sweet moment for our family.

How did you tell your family that you were expecting?  We shared with our in-laws at my mother in laws 70th birthday party. She cried. I honestly can’t recall how I shared with my parents (how bad is that!!) haha

How did your other children react when they met their new sibling?  Big smiles. Then my son sneezed on her. Welcome to the family, Hazel! 😉

If your baby has siblings, how did they respond when they found out they would be getting a new sibling?  They were thrilled, especially our oldest, Grady (5). He would often pat my belly.

How does your baby sleep at night?  She’s doing well! She usually gets up once in the middle of the night.

What is your favorite part of being a parent?  Watching our kids love on one another. They love their baby sister and it brings us so much joy.

What is your child’s favorite and/or least favorite food?  favorite — Milk 🙂

What is your child’s favorite thing to do?  Snuggle mama, poop, sleep and eat.

Can you tell us a funny or memorable story about your birth experience?  Once my water broke, I went from 5-10cm in about 15 minutes. I pushed twice and Hazel was here!

How did your child get their name?  I am named after my grandmother Linnea (my middle name). She was such an important person in my life and someone I grew up seeing on a weekly basis. She loved the Lord, her family, her country, and her Swedish heritage! My grandma’s maiden name is Bloom. It was important to me to name my daughter after such a great woman that helped me become who I am today. Colin and I both liked the name Hazel, and it’s also my grandma’s sister’s name (different grandma). I was very close to all of my grandparents. Unfortunately all of them have passed, but I know they would be thrilled at their great grand-daughter’s name. Fun fact: Hazel would’ve been the 70th grandchild/great-grandchild to one of my grandparents!
