Audrina’s New Room

I’m sure you’re probably tired of the personal posts the last few days BUT I have to do one more before getting back to business 🙂 In typical “Kayte” fashion I have about 5,284 projects going at home. I guess being addicted to crafting and design isn’t that bad on the spectrum of addiction. However, it causes me to lose significant sleep!

Blake and I decided during our first pregnancy that we wouldn’t find out gender with our children. We wanted the big surprise at delivery, but we always wanted to stay neutral with our big purchases and nursery.  We figured this way we wouldn’t be buying all new everything every time we have a baby. So after Audrina was born I added some ladybug touches to the nursery, but it has stayed pretty neutral.

I was sooo excited to move Audrina into a new bedroom and use PINK! I’ve had a lot of fun preparing her new room for her…and it’s finally ready.  We are moving her in a few months early to lessen the amount of change once baby is here. I’ve had SO many projects with her room that I was determined to do myself: I made her quilt and valance, refinished the dresser, made her growth chart, hair bow holder, and headband rack. Blake has been on building detail: putting together the crib, bookshelves, toy box, and hanging the canvas above her bed. (Thank goodness he hangs all the art in our house because while I can take pictures, I cannot for the life of me hang them straight or centered!)

Here are some pictures of Audrina’s new bedroom. We hope she enjoys it as much as we have enjoyed preparing it and trying to make it a special place just for her 🙂

And since her closet is massive, I turned part of it into a little craft area:
