Fort Wayne Newborn Photographer | Owen

Owen’s mommy has some specials things to say about her little guy –

What did you think when you first felt your baby move?  He was very strong and on a third shift schedule like his mama.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your baby?  How precious he was and how much he looked like his daddy.

What three words best describe your child?  Strong willed, cuddly  and Mama’s little boy.

What songs do you sing to your baby?  We keep it simple with nursery rhymes, but sometimes switch it up and sing “Lean On Me” by Bill Withers.

What books do you read to your baby?  We read many books a day. Right now we are reading the “Frog and Toad” series.

Does your baby have any nicknames? Where did they come from?  I like to call Owen my little Wiggle Worm because he loves to wiggle and move.

What has been the most challenging part of bringing your baby home? What has been the most rewarding part?  The most challenging part of bringing Owen home was the struggle with breastfeeding and lack of sleep. But the most rewarding part of bringing Owen home was watching him fall asleep in my arms and knowing how blessed we are.

Was there anything you absolutely could not stand while you were pregnant?  I didn’t have anything that I couldn’t stand while pregnant, however I didn’t like Mexican food as much as I used to.

Did you have any cravings while you were pregnant?  I craved anything I saw. It was dangerous to watch cooking shows :D. One I was watching a show were the character made a PBJ sandwich, I had to get up and make myself a PBJ.

Did you find out the gender of your baby? If so, did you do a special gender reveal?  We had the ultrasound tech write down the gender in an envelope and we gave that envelope to our parents. Our parents put together the gender reveal with balloons in a box and surprised our family, friends, and us with baby’s gender. (But, I had a gut feeling we were having a boy).

What was the best reaction you got when you shared that you were expecting?  We told our family on Christmas Eve/Day with Christmas cards. Everyone was crying with tears of joy.

How did you tell your family that you were expecting?  We mailed our family Christmas cards with the big news telling them not to open until Christmas Day. Our family was beyond excited and had a great Christmas gift.

How did your other children react when they met their new sibling?  Our dog, Stanley, was a little unsure at first and was not liking the lack of sleep he was getting at night. However, after a couple of weeks he seems to have adjusted and is getting more and more comfortable with Owen.

Did anything funny/unexpected happened since your baby came home?  While we were doing our photoshoot with Kayte, I was pooped on, peed on, and thrown up on all at once. First time for everything, but certainly not the last.

How does your baby sleep at night?  He sleeps about three hours straight a night.

What milestones has your baby reached?  He can lift his head high and loves looking at the world around him.

What is your favorite part of being a parent?  I love playing and cuddling with my child.

What is your child’s favorite and/or least favorite food?  He loves mommy’s milk.

What is your child’s favorite thing to do?  Owen loves to eat, stare at lights, and snuggle with mom and dad.

Can you tell us a funny or memorable story about your birth experience?  After 22 hours of labor, I remember literally falling asleep in the middle of pushing. I also remember the doctor and nurses amazed at how blonde Owen’s hair was.

How did your child get their name?  My husband was very picky when picking a name. Owen was the only one we agreed upon.
