Emersyn is just a little treasure!! She is so loved by her Mommy and Daddy!! See what thing they want to share about their sweet girl!
What did you think when you first felt your baby move? At about 18 weeks and I thought that was early.
What were your first thoughts when you saw your baby? I thought she looked just like her brother Roman, and she was so chunky. (Have always have skinny tiny babies)
What three words best describe your child? Precious, Active, and Perfect!
What songs do you sing to your baby? Taylor Swift’s song Never Grow Up (she is my last).
What books do you read to your baby? “The Wonderful Things You Will Be”.
Does your baby have any nicknames? Where did they come from? Her nickname is Emmie (It just flows better than Emersyn at times).
What has been the most challenging part of bringing your baby home? What has been the most rewarding part? The most challenging part of bringing her home was having a total of four children. 5.5, 3.5, 2.5, and now two months. I am also a full time student so that was an added stress. I didn’t get to take those 6 weeks to really embrace and stare at her. The most rewarding part is watching her grow and change. Watching everyone in the house bond with her and love on her. Now she is starting to smile and that melts my heart.
Was there anything you absolutely could not stand while you were pregnant? I could not walk I had such horrible sciatic pain. There were many nights where I could hardly walk to the bathroom.
Did you have any cravings while you were pregnant? Yes, CEREAL! Apple Crisp!
Did you find out the gender of your baby? We found out the gender early with a blood test.
What was the best reaction you got when you shared that you were expecting? Everyone though we were crazy for adding another one while I am going to school. They also thought we were crazy because they are all so young. Of course they were excited.
How did you tell your family that you were expecting? We played a game in which they had to stick their hand inside a box and feel and object. They had to identify that object and one of the items was a bag full of pregnancy test.
How did your other children react when they met their new sibling? All three of them loved her, but I was more nervous for her 2.5 year old brother Roman who has Autism. He shocked me and is so affectionate with her.
If your baby has siblings, how did they respond when they found out they would be getting a new sibling? My two older ones were so excited the whole time to meet their sister. My son Grayson actually picked his sisters middle name. I asked him do you like Emmie Kate or Emmie Skye and he responded Kate, which is how she got her middle name.
Did anything funny/unexpected happened since your baby came home? She has such an alert personality. She has to see everything that is going on around her.
How does your baby sleep at night? She only wakes twice to eat. I would count that as success.
What milestones has your baby reached? She is smiling.
What is your favorite part of being a parent? I love watching them grow and being the person they feel safe with.
What is your child’s favorite and/or least favorite food? She is breastfed and loves it!
What is your child’s favorite thing to do? She loves talking to mommy or daddy.
Can you tell us a funny or memorable story about your birth experience? When she came out my husband screamed really loud!
How did your child get their name? I really loved the name Emersyn spelled exactly that way. The ironic thing is my mom was pinning names she like several months before we even knew we were pregnant. She had pinned her named spelled the exact way we liked. Her middle name was more challenging as we were torn between Kate and Skye. We did a poll on Facebook and they were both neck and neck. I asked my three year old over and over again over several days and his answer was always Kate. That is how we got Emersyn Kate or Emmie Kate. It also completes are ‘n’ ending. Harlyn, Grayson, Roman, & Emersyn.
