Fort Wayne Newborn Photographer | Elodie

Elodie is so beautiful, and what a head of hair!! See what her parents say about this beauty!! –

What did you think when you first felt your baby move?  Was that a kick, or is my tummy grumbling?

What were your first thoughts when you saw your baby?  I love her hair! She looks just like I (mom) did when I was a baby.

What three words best describe your child?  Spirited, sweet and beautiful

What songs do you sing to your baby?  Baby Beluga (it’s been stuck in our head for days)

What books do you read to your baby?  Are You My Mother?, The Paperbag Princess and Ferdinand

What has been the most challenging part of bringing your baby home? What has been the most rewarding part?  The most challenging part has been trying to get her to sleep and dealing with our exhaustion. The most rewarding part is the snuggles.

Was there anything you absolutely could not stand while you were pregnant?  I couldn’t stand the smell of dog food, it made me nauseous! My husband had to wait until I wasn’t in the room before he could feed the dog during my whole pregnancy.

Did you find out the gender of your baby? If so, did you do a special gender reveal?  Yes, we knew we were having a girl (although I was a little skeptical all the way until she was born because I kept having dreams that she was a boy). We had a small gender reveal party with immediate family where I filled the insides of cupcakes with pink frosting so they discovered the gender when they bit in!

How did you tell your family that you were expecting?  I had us pose for a family photo, and right before the picture was taken I announced I was pregnant so that we captured their reaction in the picture!

How does your baby sleep at night?  She doesn’t.

Can you tell us a funny or memorable story about your birth experience? The day I went into labor, our doctor was working at a different hospital than we had planned on going to. So when we got to the hospital, we weren’t sure where the birthing center was, and we couldn’t find the elevator. I had to climb a flight of stairs between contractions (while other hospital visitors cheered me on)!

How did your child get their name?  Her dad and I had a hard time agreeing on a name, so we didn’t decide until about a week before she was born. We saw Elodie in a name book and we both thought it sounded beautiful. It also pays homage to her dad’s French ancestry.
