What did you think when you first felt your baby move?  I just kept thinking about how our life was going to be whole now that we were having a sibling for our son Oliver. It was the first time my pregnancy felt “real”

What were your first thoughts when you saw your baby?  She was so beautiful and looked a lot like her brother

What three words best describe your child?  Smiley, strong, and talkative

What songs do you sing to your baby?  Her brother likes to sing twinkle, twinkle little star to her 

What books do you read to your baby?  She listens a lot of fire truck books with her brother

Does your baby have any nicknames?   We’ve never liked the idea of calling her Charlie but we’ve heard of Lottie being a nickname for Charlotte and we’ve always thought that was cute

What has been the most challenging part of bringing your baby home? What has been the most rewarding part?  Definitely the most challenging has been bathing two kids every evening and trying to get house work done with two little ones. The most rewarding is watching her eye and light up when she sees her brother

Was there anything you absolutely could not stand while you were pregnant?  Eggs and milk

Did you have any cravings while you were pregnant?   I craved black berries. I loved the tartness of them

Did you find out the gender of your baby? If so, did you do a special gender reveal?  Yes, but we just announced it was a pink bow on her ultrasound photo

What was the best reaction you got when you shared that you were expecting?  My sisters and parents were so excited

How did you tell your family that you were expecting?  We went over to their house and showed them the picture of our first ultrasound

How did your other children react when they met their new sibling?  Oliver is 2 so he wasn’t quite sure what having a sibling meant

If your baby has siblings, how did they respond when they found out they would be getting a new sibling?  Oliver was only a year old when we told him so he didn’t understand

Did anything funny/unexpected happened since your baby came home?  She burps so much louder than her brother ever did as a baby and now that Oliver is two he thinks her burps are funny

How does your baby sleep at night?  She wakes once a night to eat

What milestones has your baby reached?  She has found her fists and can hold her head up very well

What is your favorite part of being a parent?  When Charlotte smiles at me and Oliver tells me he loves me it makes me feel whole

What is your child’s favorite and/or least favorite food?  She’s still just drinking milk

What is your child’s favorite thing to do?  She loves to sit up and look around. She always needs to see what’s going on

Can you tell us a funny or memorable story about your birth experience?  I just remember being so relieved that my labor was half as long as it was with my first

How did your child get their name?  We wanted to go with an old fashioned name like her brother
