Look what Lucy’s mom had to say about her sweet bundle of joy –

What did you think when you first felt your baby move?  Excited, especially when she really started to move because I missed out on that with her sister who was early.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your baby?  She looked nothing like her sister.

What three words best describe your child?  Smiley, sweet and cute.

What books do you read to your baby?  I love you more and more.

Does your baby have any nicknames? Where did they come from?  Her name is Lucille but we call her Lucy. Her sister called her Sushi at first because she couldn’t say Lucy.

What has been the most challenging part of bringing your baby home? What has been the most rewarding part?  Hardest part was having a baby at home this time while recovering. Best part was getting to leave the hospital with a baby!

Did you find out the gender of your baby? If so, did you do a special gender reveal?  Yes we found out. We took a picture of her sister with a pink flower to announce that she was getting a sister. No party or anything though.

What was the best reaction you got when you shared that you were expecting?  A lot of people hoped we had a boy since we already had a girl. I wanted a girl so they had a friend for life. Plus I never had a sister.

How did you tell your family that you were expecting?  Just told them in person.

How did your other children react when they met their new sibling?  Olivia wasn’t sure of her the first day. She didn’t even want to touch her. After that we came home she started to like her.

If your baby has siblings, how did they respond when they found out they would be getting a new sibling?   She had no clue what was happening.

How does your baby sleep at night?  Really well. They had us wake her up to feed her at first but after we stopped that she slept through the night.

What milestones has your baby reached?  All of them that she should

What is your favorite part of being a parent?  Watching them grow and learn and discover new things everyday.

What is your child’s favorite and/or least favorite food?  Milk

What is your child’s favorite thing to do?  Eat for sure! She is such a good eater!

Can you tell us a funny or memorable story about your birth experience?  It was a scheduled c section so it was pretty uneventful. No labor or rushing to the hospital or anything. We watched price is right before going into surgery. This time was so much more relaxing and such a nice experience. I remember thinking I couldn’t believe how much hair she had and I couldn’t believe that she looked nothing like her sister.

How did your child get their name?  Lucy was what we almost named Olivia. Josh liked Lucille so we named her that but call her Lucy. Ray was my grandpas name who I never got to meet but inspired my name. We wanted a family name and that’s what we came up with. She was almost Lucy Sue but we didn’t want her initials to be LSD. 🙂
