Fort Wayne Newborn Photographer. Lucas is such a handsome little boy! It was great to have him in the studio! His momma answered some questions for me!
How did your child get their name?
His first name came from just us picking a name we liked. His middle name (Mitchell) is the name of his cousin who passed away at birth 12 years ago.
What three words best describe your child?
Tiny, Hungry, Adorable
What did you think when you first felt your baby move?
Relieved knowing my baby was healthy and growing.
What has been the most challenging part of bringing your baby home? What has been the most rewarding part?
Most challenging has been getting sleep. The most rewarding has been seeing our daughter interact with him.
Does your baby have any nicknames? Where did they come from?
“Gunny” Because when he’s really hungry, his cry sounds like a machine gun.
What was the best reaction you got when you shared that you were expecting?
We had our daughter wear a shirt that said “I’m going to be a big sister.” When one of our friends saw it, he read it out loud but it didn’t sink in for what it meant for over a minute. We had moved on to another topic of conversation when he realized it mid sentence while talking. He just stopped talking and said, “Wait. What? No way!”
How did you tell your family that you were expecting?
We visited each family member with our daughter wearing a shirt that said, “I’m going to be a big sister” and waited for them to notice it.
How did your other children react when they met their new sibling?
Our daughter (19 mos.) was kind of freaked out by the hospital setting. But once everyone was home it took her about two weeks to warm up to having a sibling.
If your baby has siblings, how did they respond when they found out they would be getting a new sibling?
She cried. But then again, I don’t think she understood what we were telling her.
Did anything funny/unexpected happened since your baby came home?
Yes. He’s mastered the ability to projectile poop while you’re changing his diaper.
How does your baby sleep at night?
He sleeps fine until he’s hungry. Which is about every two hours!
What is your favorite part of being a parent?
The tax credit. Just kidding. Watching them grow. It’s amazing how they absorb everything and it’s fun to watch them develop a personality.
